Back to the future

They sat all the families with little ones in the back of the plane, which was awesome as we could board first and wait for all the yeahoos who think they have to rush off the plane before trying to get ourselves off.

Orchids greet you when you land in Okinawa!

Finn passed out on the ANA flight from Tokyo to Okinawa

The ANA flight attendants were adamant that we lay Finn in this stroller contraption at Narita Airport. They bent over backwards to help us, which was a Godsend as I overpacked by about 500 pounds (or so it felt)

Two hours or so out of Tokyo. I love these flight trackers on the seatback television screens.

We're back in the land of tomorrow! Mom, Finn and I flew back to Okinawa on Sunday, Sept. 20. An interesting thing about flying back is you basically skip a day-we left the house at 8 am Sunday and arrived at my apt. in Okinawa at 9:45 pm Monday. Craziness!

Finn was a fantastic flyer! He slept on the flight from Louisville to Chicago, only had a 2 hour period of crankiness on the flight to Tokyo, and zonked out the entire flight to Okinawa from Tokyo. It was great on the long flight to Tokyo as we were in the bulkhead aisle and they set up a bassinet for the babe to stretch in. My boy is a stretcher so he was happy.

So good arriving and seeing my beloved and my baby in the same room, outside of the hospital! Jared finally got to hold his son w/o Finn being attached to monitors or wearing a hospital band. Life is good.

Adjusting back to Oki life. First day here was rough, last night was better so high hopes for today (Wednesday). Gotta run errands to finish his nursery and acclimate back to island life. SOOOOO nice having Mom here, I can't wait to share our life here with her.

Whirlwind

So, I know there is a season known as summer. It has flown by. I will officially have spent every summer day except for 1 in the States, as I arrived stateside June 20 and fly back Sept. 20.
I gotta jet to Babies R' Us (how nice to go to a store in person as opposed to on the internet!) to pick up some stuff to help make the 23 hour journey back to Oki less miserable for Mama Jean, Finn and myself, but I want to post a picture I took today of Finn. Those in the know understand how much I do not like having little boys come into school sporting mohawks, but it's adorable, in my eyes, on my 10.5 week old/3 week old. Enjoy!
